OCI is excited to offer two levels to the CSArt Omaha program this year, as well as increased artist stipends. Applications open today, November 29th and close December 30th at midnight. Join us for a CSArtist Info session next Tuesday, December 6th, here at OCI!
How it works: Community members buy a "share" of artwork, similar to a CSA from a farm. The artists are known, but the work is yet to be made. Selected artists have 5 months to create either 50 pieces for the Patron group or 10 for the Collector group. During this time artists and shareholders establish relationships through a handful of CSArt social events. At the final event, shareholders receive their crate full of artwork, one piece from each artist.
Patron: Similar to last year, artists in the Patron group will be paid $1,500 to create 50 works of art. That works out to about $30 wholesale per piece. We are looking for small-scale work that lends itself to multiples.
Collector: New this year, artists in the Collector group will be paid $2,000 to create 10 works. That works out to about $200 per piece. We are looking for one-off works that will stand on their own.
All artistic mediums are welcome! As well as collaborations! We are looking for exciting work in a variety of mediums- both functional and fine art. Artists may apply for both levels, but must use 2 different project proposals, and will only be selected for one. There is a $10 application fee for each group.
