Omaha Creative Institute is proud to announce the third event in our 2018 CSArt lineup: Artist Talks! As part of a sustained effort to promote an ethos of buying local, Community Supported Art, or CSArt, adapts the model of Community Supported Agriculture into a model of production that connects artists directly to patrons. Buyers purchase a “share,” which includes original artwork created by local artists, and go on to build personal and professional relationships with those artists at a handful of events that take place over the course of the CSArt season.
2018 CSArt Artist Talks will be hosted at OCI’s new home in Little Bohemia (1419 South 13th Street, Suite 103, Omaha, NE 68108). Shareholders and potential shareholders will have the chance to hear artists articulate why they do what they do and see examples of their work first hand in the CSArt Preview show, installed in OCI’s exhibition space at the same location.
2018 CSArt artists are: at the Collector Level: Brian Wetjen, Holly Kranker, Joe Pankowski, Sarah Kolar, and Katie B. Temple and at the Patron Level: Amanda DeBoer Bartlett, Bryan Miller, Howard Paine, Jadon Ulrich, Joey Lynch, Nadia Shinkunas, Sarah Hummel Jones, Sarah Parys, Siddig Babiker, and Torrey Smith.
CSArt shares at both the Patron ($350 for 10 editioned works of art) and Collector level ($1,000 for 5 original works of art) will be available for purchase until Friday, March 30, 2018. This event provides an opportunity for patrons who purchase CSArt shares to meet participating artists, learn more about their work, and network with other member shareholders before receiving their artwork at the final harvest or pick-up event in June.
